Our opinion on the Baie des Singes Beach
Baie des Singes Beach in Marseille is located in Goudes near Cap Croisette across from Maire. It is also called the beach of the end of the world by the people of Marseille. This little sand beach is protected by the sea from the dam. It is narrow but is agreeable and can be crowded on the weekend.
The environment is completely preserved with a lot of white rocks that are typical of the calanques. The island across is beautiful.
We also find a restaurant with a private beach in this bay.
This bay is nicknamed “Baie des Singes” (Monkey Bay) because it was a smuggling center and the children were asked to keep silent like monkeys...
To get here from Les Goudes, continue toward Cap Croisette. There is an improvised parking lot in the middle of the rocks. The Baie des Singes is accessible from the stairs dug into the rocks (10 minute walk).

On the right is Ile Maire and on the left is Monkey Bay with the UCPA center.
We see the UCPA center from the sea in this bay. A great spot!
This beach is found behind the rocks.
From the parking lot we can get to the bay by using the stairs dug into the stone. You will need ten minutes to get to the beach. The path is a bit difficult.
Just before arriving to Cap Croisette, we find this little sand and gravel beach. It is nicknamed Maronaise Beach.
