Calanque de Morgiou in Marseille is located at ten kilometers to the east of Calanque de Sormiou going toward Cassis. This calanque is very deep and narrow. We find a little fishing harbor and cabanas that are occupied during the year. A restaurant/bar is also open during certain periods of the year.
We find a little beach in this calanque, on the left. A path allows us access. It is little and made up of sand and stones.
This calanque is accessible from the Baumettes parking lot which is next to the prison. From the route du feu, you will need an hour to get to this calanque by foot. It is also possible to park directly on the calanque off season. If you have a reservation at a restaurant, you can get a parking pass (ask the restaurant about it when you reserve a table).
From this calanque, we can take the coastal path “vertige” which provides us with great views with a path of about three hours along the Crete de Morgiou. We pass near the grotte Cosquer (inaccessible) on the Cap Morgiou.
