Our opinion on the Marinella beach
Ajaccio’s Marinella beach is undoubtedly the most famous beach in this part of Corsica. Immortalized by Tino Rossi, who had a near-by property, he was inspired by the beach’s fine sand and turquoise waters. This beach guarantees a change of scenery. Located on the road of Sanguinaires islands (about 5 km from the city centre of Ajaccio). In the sea, the gentle slope allows children to play safely.
In front of the beaches of Porticcio, on the other side of the Gulf, this beach is part of the beaches of Santa Lina, the most famous beaches of Ajaccio. There are many restaurants, straw cabins, and you can also take part in many water activities. Densely populated in the summer season and parking can be difficult.
To go to this beach, take Sanguinaires road. 2.5 km after the cemetery, there is a large car park on the right (after the bowling club). The beach is in front right near the Point.

This Ajaccio’s Marinella beach, is made of fine sand. The slope is very gentle, making it ideal for children.
This beach stretches for several hundred meters in the Bay of Santa Lina. We can see, in the picture, on the left, the Girelles’ straw cabin and in the background the city centre of Ajaccio.
In the summer season, it is possible to rent beach equipment.
In front, there is a beautiful view of the opposite bank of the Gulf of Ajaccio including the coastline of Pietrosella.
Right next to the Point, you will find Marinella’s straw cabin.
