Our opinion on the Balistra Beach
Balistra Beach in Bonifacio is located north of the Gulf of Sant'Amanza. It is accessed through a track in bad condition (it takes 15 minutes by car from the national road to the edge of the beach) this beach is wild and bordered to the north by a pond.
The beach is divided into two areas. The area accessible by car is the north beach. It is supervised in summer and accessible to disabled people. There is a hut and mattress rentals. The beach ends in a stream.
The south part is wilder and ends at the cliffs, much to the delight of Para gliders.
This beach is also a popular spot for practicing kite surfing or windsurfing when the sea is rough (East wind).
This beach is quite hard to find, as it is not indicated (only a sign for the restaurant). From the Bonifacio roundabout reaching Ajaccio, take the national road 198 towards Bastia for 6 km then turn right on a dirt road. After 2 km on the track (quickly in bad condition but one can go through with an average car), there is a free car park on the beach.

This unspoilt beach north of Bonifacio offers a beautiful bay. On the other hand, it can be very rough; in this case, it is a real playground for windsurfers and kite surfers.
This is the main beach of Balistra (monitored area in summer).
There is a stream flowing into the sea north of this beach (coming from the pond of Balistra). One can follow the coast and discover some small coves by crossing it.
The southern part of this beach is much wilder, at the limit of the northern cliffs of the Gulf of Sant'Amanza. There are Para gliders landing on the beach.
The pond of Balistra is located north, behind the beach.
