Palombaggia Beach in Porto Vecchio is the most famous beach in Corsica. This vast expanse of sand stretches over 1.5 km with extra fine white sand. There are several areas separated by rocks. It is in the northernmost area that there are huts, private beaches and water activities. In the central part, there is a completely public large expanse of sand, which is offered to tourists lined with small dunes and pine trees providing shade in summer. Swimming is gently sloping.
Note that the area of Casa di Lume is equipped for disabled people and a monitoring station is installed in summer. This area is also a tobacco-free beach (the first one in Corsica).
To get to the beaches of Palombaggia, take the direction of Bonifacio on the N198 at the exit of Porto Vecchio. At the large roundabout (junction for Ajaccio), turn left towards Palombaggia by Piccovaggia. Follow the road for 11 km. A paid car park is located on the northern part.
