Our opinion on the Vieilles Beach
Vieilles Beach in Ile-d'Yeu (Old ladies) is located south near the tip of the Ravens on the wild coast. This beautiful sandy cove is boxed between the small cliffs of the rocky coast. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ile-d’Yeu and one of the most visited in summer (the place is easy to find). In summer, there is a surf school and it is possible to rent kayaks or canoes (it is very nice to discover this part of the island, which is relatively rough).
The shallow waters will suit younger people. The many rocks give the beach a wild and relaxing atmosphere.
Off-season, this beach is popular with surfers (rather easy spot).
Although there is a free car park near the beach, it is advisable to arrive by bicycle or to take the seasonal shuttle that connects it with Joinville harbour and St Sauveur. To get to this beach, follow the direction of the locality of La Croix.
