There are several small sandy coves below the wild coast in Fountain Cove (plage des Fontaines), south of Ile-d’Yeu, near the tip of the Slice and Soux Cove. Less known than the beaches in the east, these small coves are attractive for those looking for some peace and quiet provided they are a little sporty (access is a bit tricky, only the coves on the right are accessible at high tide). The cove is fairly well protected from the winds. However, it is advisable to wear shoes while swimming (there are many rocks on the edge). The seabed is interesting.
These beaches are located about 2 km south of the hamlet of Saint-Sauveur by following the road of the Semaphore.
