Our opinion on the Ker Chalon Beach
Ker Chalon Beach is the nearest beach from the port of Ile-d’Yeu, near the hamlet of Ker Chalon (the village was initially inhabited by labourers working at the port - now there are charming restored houses). Gently sloping, the island has the warmest water. Historically frequented by holiday camps, this beach is very suitable for children. It stretches for about 900 meters towards the tip of Gilberge. The nearest part from the port is the busiest in summer and has a sailing club. On the campsite and the tip of Gilberge, attendance is lower.
When the wind is strong, this beach becomes a benchmark for the practice of kite surfing or windsurfing.
This beach is interesting but too classic in our view. There are beautiful coves in Ile-d’Yeu; this beach is only useful if you are staying nearby.

Located near Joinville harbour, this beach is the main one in Ile-d’Yeu. The nearest area from the port is the busiest with a sailing centre. The sand is beautifully wide.
This beach stretches south to the tip of Gilberge through the campsite of Ile-d’Yeu. This area is a bit quiet.
