Our opinion on the Petit Sochard Beach
Saint Jean de Monts’ Petit Sochard Beach of is located near the hippodrome, near the Pont d'Yeu and Notre Dame de Monts. More deserted than the nearby beaches and a little more difficult to access, it is less crowded even in the summer season. Only the locals know about it! The environment is totally untamed with beautiful dunes and numerous trails. However, swimming is not supervised.
To get to this beach from Notre Dame de Monts, take the road south, direction Saint Jean de Monts by the D38. After 2 km, turn right towards the racecourse (it only has a small yellow sign to indicate this. You arrive in the area of Petit Sochard. You must follow the directions of the racecourse. The beach access is located just before the entrance, taking the trails in the dunes (about 5 minutes’ walk to get on the beach).
