Our opinion on the Madeleine Beach
Madeleine Beach on the island of Noirmoutier is located in the north of the island near White Wood (private property) on the edge of Madeleine village and near the Old. This is not the most famous beach in the island but it is still very nice at high tide (there are many rocks at low tide) because it is shady. Do not forget to stroll through the streets of the villages of Old and Madeleine, which remained fairly typical.
To get to this beach, take the direction of Old hamlet. There is an access to the beach at the end of Resistance Street. One only accesses the main area directly from Little Old Street.

Located north of the island of Noirmoutier, this beach has the advantage of being in the shade.
This beach stretches along Madeleine hamlet (a very small unspoilt hamlet). On the other hand, there are many rocks near the edge. Swimming is not the most pleasant experience at low tide.
Some areas are well shaded in summer, very nice when it is extremely hot.
Some homes are lucky enough to be in front of this beach.
Going up to the right, one can reach the second part of Madeleine beach, which seems a little less interesting. Indeed, it is close to the road and there are many algae. At low tide, there are many rocks, perfect for on-foot fishing.
