Our opinion on the Canteen Beach
Canteen Beach (plage de la Cantine) is located in the village of Guérinière on the island of Noirmoutier. It is the strategic point of the Atlantic wall; one can find former blockhouses (fire command posts), which are currently used by an association.
This sandy beach stretches several hundred meters towards Court Beach. Attendance is somewhat lower than on the nearby beaches.
To get to this beach, follow the signs to Guérinière. At the entrance of the village (from the north), follow the D948 to the sea and then turn right. There is a free car park.

Photos of the Canteen Beach
Historical Canteen Beach is located from Proud point in the south. At the centre of this photo, you can see one of the blockhauses (Tirpitz battery - work that is part of the Atlantic Wall) of this beach.
Further south, the beach stretches for several kilometres towards mainland (on clear days, one can even see the beaches of Notre Dame de Monts).
In the north, there is an access ramp to the beach then the coast becomes rocky (some small sandy areas at the tip).
