Boucholeurs Beach in Barbâtre is the southernmost beach in Noirmoutier. Located at the ocean (west coast), this large sandy beach stretches for several kilometres towards La Guérinière. Unspoilt and free of constructions, attendance is quite low even in summer (it's not a picture postcard beach as one can find in the north of the island but is still very nice). Swimming is gently sloping. On-foot fishing is possible at low tide in the south in the Pit where there are rocks.
To get to this beach from Barre de Monts, take Noirmoutier Bridge. After it, follow the D38 on 3 km then turn left (sign indicating Barbâtre entrance). After 200 meters, take the D95 on the right and turn left on Boucholeurs Avenue (after 200 meters). The car park is at the end of this avenue.
