Lizay Beach in Portes en Ré is in the extension of Grande Conche des Baleines in St Clement. It stretches north of the village of Rivière, bordering on the forest of Lizay and in a well-developed dune area. The view of the lighthouses of Baleines (on the left) is magnificent. This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of the island of Ré. To swim, it is advisable to go left from the access because there are many rocks on the right at low tide. When the sea is rough, this beach is a surf spot.
To reach this beach from St Clement, take the D101 towards Portes en Ré. At the village of Rivière, turn right in the village towards Maison de la Dune. On the way to Petit Bec, at the fork, turn left and continue to the car park. Access is through a path on the dune.
