Gros Jonc Beach in Portes en Ré is located near the village's tennis courts between the beaches of Lauzin and Cytons. This area is usually reserved for kite surfing or windsurfing (there is also a water sports center). At the tip, there are fish locks. It is not possible to swim at low tide.
To reach this beach from the center of Portes en Ré, go past the tourist office and take the first road on the right. At the end of the road, turn left. Access is at the nautical center. It is very difficult to park in this area.
