Our opinion on the Kerel Beach
Kerel Beach in Bangor is not the most famous, but one of the most appreciated of Belle Ile en Mer. Its general appearance offers a long gentle slope surface, with yellow sand, about 750 meters long with low water, upstream, making it an ideal beach for children. The beach is one of the hottest of the island. Moreover, it is well protected from the west winds. This beach is not monitored, one must be careful of weevers (poisonous fish). It is decorated with many small coves within easy reach and a deep "back-beach".
From Bangor, take the road to Grand-Village on the left after the church. At the hamlet entrance, there is a road leading to the car park. Then one has to walk 200 m. Several other paths lead to it, but on 2 wheels (or two feet) Belle Island is a beach paradise and this one is not the least.
