Our opinion on the Bordardoué Est Beach

Literally "Bord ar Doué", which means "at the edge of God." Did a resident felt mystically ecstatic at the sight of these wild shores of Belle Ile en Mer? The place is inspiring; it's true, what with all these detours that the rocks make. One can distinguish Bordardoué Est Beach from Bordardoué Ouest because a more significant tip maintains the two beaches separated most of the time, even at low tide. Consequences: this part is much less crowded than the other because it is more difficult to access, which earned it a few attempts at naturism. But many amateur geologists come here because its structure with thins layers of tuff and quartz, coloured and folded, and its black rocks and hard laminated quartz make, it seems, a unique curiosity in the world. The sun is hidden in places at around 5 pm; the caves can also serve as shelters when the sunlight is strong.

To go there, from the coast road, turn at the hamlet of Bordardoué, cross it from south to north and then take an almost straight path, which leads to the coastal path. Take the latter on the right to a steep valley going down. There is no car park except along the road.
