Beaches in Sauzon (56360) France - advise, map and photos

The village of Sauzon is located northwest of Belle-Ile-en-Mer in the department of Morbihan. It is organized around its port (on the Sauzon river) and has some nice colourful houses with shops. However, the tip of Poulains (extreme north of the island) attracts many tourists throughout the year. The house of Sarah Bernhardt, located there (one of the greatest French actresses of the 19th century - Victor Hugo nicknamed her the Golden Voice), is built on a fort (there are several on the island) with the lighthouse of Poulains.

There are several beaches in Sauzon. Southwest, that is to say on the wild coast, Donnant Beach is the most famous. The most beautiful rollers of the island are located there. It is deemed dangerous; people usually come here to surf. The beaches of Bangor with some of the most beautiful beaches in Belle-Ile-en-Mer are located only a few hundred meters to the south. The beautiful beaches of Le Palais are located southeast.

Belle Ile en Mer is accessible from Quiberon. It is composed of four villages. Sauzon is the northernmost village.
