Riez Beach is the first untamed beach of Sion sur l’Océan and Saint-Hilaire. Located on the road to Saint Jean de Monts, it is surrounded by dunes and is located in the Pays de Monts forest. Its proximity to the city centre and the presence of a large campsite nearby make it very attractive and it is very crowded during the summer season. Many roads allow access to the quieter areas in the north. In the summer season, there is a lifeguard station.
Coming from Sion sur l’Océan, take the direction of Saint Jean to reach this beach (D123). After 800 meters, at the roundabout, turn left. Signs indicate the beach. The carpark is at the end of the road.
