The Vendee is one of the favourite destinations of the French during the summer season thanks to its beautiful sandy beaches. Its beautiful Coast of Lumière and kilometres of sandy beaches offer tourists the ideal settings for relaxation and pleasure.
The seaside resort of Brétignolles-sur-Mer is one of those little corners of paradise, with its extensive coastline on the one hand, 12 km of beaches dotted with small coves, and its landscape, this rocky coast and dunes that protect and make the ideal setting to enjoy your holiday.
The Dunes Beach
Surfers will especially like the different spots in this area and the many clubs that allow you to learn during the summer to the most popular sport in the region. For beginners, the Dunes Beach seems to be the most suitable place. Very large, with more than 3 km of shoreline available and renowned for its waves, it is also supervised, allowing you to discover the art of surfing safely in an exceptional setting.
Windsurfing enthusiasts, catamaran, wave-ski or sail will be delighted to discover the Normandelière Beach. It also has the advantage of being close to the Dolphins beach club for children up to 14 years.
Marais Girard Beach, very popular, also features a beach club to the delight of the children.

Le Petit Pont - the nudist area of Brétignolles sur Mer
Naturists are not forgotten since Brétignolles has one of the nicest nudist beaches of the Vendee. Nicknamed the Petit Pont Beach (it is in the area of Petit Pont, north of the resort on the edge of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie), the area is totally untamed. The dunes are well developed. The bravest can even walk to St Gilles Jaunay Beach (but naturism is not allowed) or the main beach of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie.
Brétignolles-sur-Mer also offers the opportunity for all to discover the beauty of its environment by organising boat trips or fishing sessions. If you are more adventurous, you may as well rent a boat and explore the isle of Yeu!
