The small seaside resort of Brétignolles-sur-Mer is located in the department of Vendee, on the coast of Light.

Its extensive coastline stretches 12 km and is a popular tourist destination in summer and an international surfing spot. Sauzaie, Normandelière, Dune and Gachère are the main beaches in Brétignolles sur Mer, which is located between Les Sables d'Olonne and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. The one in Sauzaie was the scene of clashes during the Second World War. Brétignolles-sur-Mer is a family-oriented seaside resort, and offers a beautiful landscape, between rocky coast hiding beautiful coves and vast beaches protected by dunes.
