Our opinion on the Grande Beach
Grande Beach in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie stretches over 3 km from the port to the locality of Jaunay Bridge. The busiest area is in the northern part of the beach at the embankment and the city center of St Gilles. There is a pleasant pedestrian promenade on the sea front with many restaurants and cafe terraces. It is also possible to rent bathing huts in summer.
The northern part (at the port) and the southern part are wilder with dunes and trails to access the beach.
It is the largest and most beautiful beach in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. Those looking for peace and quiet will have to go south but one will at least be sure to find a place to put one’s towel down.
It is also possible to practice sand yachting and surfing (in summer, surfing is only possible in an area 150 meters north and 200 meters south).

This is the northern part of the center of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, at the port. This is a beautiful view of the main beach and the seafront. Beautiful dunes line the north and south sides.
The northern part of this beach is unspoilt with beautiful dunes and many trails leading to the beach.
The embankment begins on the left; the area is busier in summer.
There are several beach huts (some equipped for disabled people) north of the beach in the center of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie.
A pleasant promenade overlooks the beach (the embankment - Remblai).
There are many restaurants and shops facing the sea in the central part.
The view of the tip of La Grosse Tête in Saint Hilaire de Riez is beautiful.
It is possible to rent sand yachts on the embankment.
The southern part of this beach is wilder with beautiful dunes away from the embankment.
