Our opinion on the Grande plage of Sion
Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez’ Great Beach of Sion is located south of the town at the place called Sion-sur-L’Ocean (former resort attached to St Hilaire). This is one of the most touristy beaches with many summer activities (kids club, water sports centre, ...) and a lifeguard station. The beach quickly becomes more untamed the further north you go (after the bunker). The environment is beautiful with a nice view over the coast of “Lumière” facing north. Note that this beach is equipped for people with reduced mobility.
Access to this beach is indicated at Sion-sur-l’Océan. There is ample free parking at the D6A.
Dogs are only allowed after 19h.

Located near the centre of Sion-sur-l’Océan (town belonging to St Hilaire de Riez), this beach is the start of a long sandy beach that stretches for several kilometres towards Saint Jean de Monts. The environment rapidly becomes untamed (in the photo, a bunker).
On the left, there is a water sports centre and children's entertainment in the summer season.
