Douhet Beach in Saint Georges of Oléron (or Plaisance Beach) is located northeast of the island of Oléron in the sea of Pertuis in the cove of Maleconche. It offers magnificent views of the forest and the tip of Saumonards as well as Fort Boyard and the island of Aix (by clear weather). While being close to the port of Douhet and its shops, this sandy beach offers an unspoilt setting with a beautiful dune area. In summer, there is a first aid station and it is equipped for disabled guests.
To get to this beach from Saint-Georges-of-Oléron, take the D126 towards Boyardville on 2.5 km and turn left towards Foulerot and the port of Douhet. There is a car park at the port.
