Huttes Beach in St-Denis-of-Oléron is located in the west (Atlantic Ocean) and straddles the commune of St Pierre d'Oléron. This beach is the northernmost beach of the Island of Oléron (then the coast becomes rocky to the lighthouse of Chassiron). It is monitored in summer. When the sea is rough, it is a famous surf or kite surf spot. Some campsites border it.
To reach this beach from St Denis, take the D734 on 1.5 km towards St Pierre, turn right and follow the signs to La Michelière and Les Huttes. Follow the road on the left (successively going through Bétaudière and Michelière). Turn left after 1 km on rue des Seulières. There are several beach accesses but it is easier to turn right on rue Alain Gerbault to reach Rue des Dunes (car park at the end).
