Dolus d'Oléron is located south of the island of Oléron. The village center is away from the sea. On the East coast (eastern coast), there are mainly oyster parks (oysters of Marenne-Oléron), swimming is possible on the coast, and one has to go to Boyardville to find the first beaches in the Pertuis Sea. The beaches of Dolus d'Oléron are located on the wild coast (also called the west coast) facing the Atlantic Ocean.
Vert-Bois Beach is the wildest and the most famous. It stretches several kilometres north of the main beach of Saint Trojan les Bains. It is bordered by a huge forest, which can be explored on foot or by bicycle. On this beach, one can also enjoy sand yachting. Further north, Rémigeasse Beach is very popular with families because the swimming area is restricted and monitored in summer.
The nicest beaches are located in Saint Georges d'Oléron in the north. They are spread across both coasts. To the south, St Trojan les Bains is highly sought after and offers many activities (spa center, small train in the forest towards Maumusson).
