Port MariaBeach in Belle Ile en Mer is located in a narrow cove opening into the cliff and separating into two little coves at high tide. This is historically the beach of the small port town of Locmaria, which doesn’t houses many boats anymore but is popular with children (and adults) for its small jetty from which they dive. At low tide, sand covers all the surface of the estuary, but at high tide, sand remains only on two fringes each "hosting" only twenty people. It is a friendly beach, which has the other advantage of being one of the island’s closest beaches to a village (300 m).
