Port York Beach in Belle Ile en Mer (Le Palais) is a hundred meter long beach, which was formed at the mouth of a wide valley draining a river that feeds a marsh behind the beach. Swimming is safe. The only inconvenience at times can be an important contribution of seaweed, but no unpleasant smell was reported. Well sheltered, the place is a natural refuge for many boats (kayaks, dinghies, tenders), but also a variety of wildlife: swimming crabs, sea urchins, abalone, oystercatcher magpies, etc.
To go there, nothing simpler: the beach is located along the coastal road. Some places are available all along; otherwise there is a car park in the pasture opposite.
