One must not confuse Port Guen Beach (Port Blanc) in Palais with Port Gwenn in Bangor or Port Blanc in Locmaria, south of the island. It is a small sunny beach sheltered from the prevailing winds, which makes it a boat haven (many tenders are parked on the beach), but also a pleasant place to spend the day. Its yellow sand is full of shells: periwinkles, gibbules, limpets ... Beautiful edible mussels at times also on the left of the beach. At low tide, the sand covers almost the entire cove.
To get there from Le Palais through the entrances to Vauban and Bangor, turn left on the coastal road and cross the hamlet of Borthelo. Port Guen is down the road (small car park with fifteen places).
