Armels Beach in Belle Ile en Mer (Le Palais) takes its name from the Breton "ourmel" which means "elm", already an indication of what can be found under rocks at high tide (caution, replace any stone block moved for the regeneration of species). This very boxed cove benefits from the proximity of the nearby Ramonet Beach, the fort of the same name on the tip to the right, and a steep staircase as access. The fact that one sees little of what happens there has led some to declare it a naturist beach, but it does not seem official. Even wearing a swimming costume, one can enjoy the sand, hard most of the time because high tide reduces to almost nothing the two parts of the beach. One should therefore prefer it at low tide.
To get there, from Le Palais, along the coastal road, one has to go to Ramonet Beach, go up and, after the turn, closely follow the coast, turning left on impasse Fort Ramonet.
