The beach of pointe du Banc of Saint Germain de l’Ay is part of the beautiful wild beaches of the Channel. Located on a protected site by the conservatoire du littoral, two steps from the havre de Lessay, this vast sandy beach ends at the mouth of Ay. To the north, the beach stretches for several kilometers in direction of the city center.
We can see two areas on this beach. The main area at the level of the parking is very family. We can easily access it after crossing a dune (arranged with stairs). The south part (at about 150 meters – less then 10 minutes of walk) is reserved for naturists (the area is well indicated). It is the only beach of the Channel department where naturists are allowed.
Note that the sea retreats far at low tide.
To get to this beach from the center of Saint Germain de l’Ay join the avenue of la Pointe du Banc. Follow the road for 1.5 km. It ends by a track (well maintained) with a parking at the end.
