Beaches in Agon-Coutainville (50230) France - advise, map and photos

Located in the department of Manche (Normandy), opposite the island of Jersey, between the harbours of Blainville and Regnéville, the seaside resort of Coutainville is a major seaside resort on the Cotentin’s “Côte des Havres”. It has been awarded a Blue Flag and classed as a Green Resort for several years.
There are several beaches in Coutainville. The two main are located at the city centre. They are supervised in the summer season and have a nice promenade for walking. At Agon point, is the most untamed beach of Coutainville. There is also an area reserved for naturists (only two beaches in the department of Manche) which was formally established in 2014. To the north, at the beginning of the promenade, is the famous cabin perched on “La Poulette” dune and which has resisted the coastal erosion and various storms since 1926.
The Coutainville seaside is a pedestrianised zone. You can appreciate the houses with typical architecture of the time when sea bathing was fashionable (19th century).

The point of Agon area belongs to the coastal preservation trust. It overlooks the harbour of Regnéville and the estuary of Siena. As Victor Hugo said, there you can contemplate eternity. Many trails have been constructed and there is a natural harbour.
