Our opinion on the St Germain sur Ay Beach
The central beach of Saint Germain sur Ay is located in the city center of the seaside resort (few shops on the seafront, mostly houses). It stretches for about 2 kilometers. In summer, the central part at the level of the launching wedge is monitored.
The evironment is very pleasant with small dunes. The sand is mixed with some pebble.
At low tide, the sea retreats very far. The beach then becomes a playground for fishing on foot. We can also see the ballet of fishmen tractors who come up their boats.
South and north areas are wilder and less frequented. Ideal for those looking for a little calm.
Access to the beach is made by the sea boulevard. Free parking on the seafront.

South part of the beach : We are to the south of the central beach of St Germain sur Ay (at the level of Colmar street). Some little dunes with rocks to stop erosion.
The beach stretches for several kilometers to the south in direction of the mouth of Ay.
There are several areas to park for free.
Central beach at the level of the first aid station : At the level of the first aid station, there is a launching wedge for boats. It is also used by fishermen who come with their tractors directly on the beach to bring the boats out.
The area to the left of the launching wedge is monitored in summer.
At the level of the first aid station, there is a big free parking.
North part of the beach of St Germain sur Ay: The beach stretches for several kilometers to the north in direction of Bretteville sur Ay. Wilder environment.
On the left, we easily join the main beach.
