Located about an hour from Porto-Vecchio, Zonza is located at the foot of Bavella, in a landscape of conifers and chestnut trees. This area has many particularities including being the most vast commune in Corsica and a territory of a great diversity between sea and mountains. Technically, it is possible to ski and swim without leaving the village making it one of the main tourist destinations in the Corsican mountains! Its coast extends all the way to Sainte-Lucie and Pinarello and the beautiful route that goes along Alta Rocca offers pretty panoramas. The route that climbs toward the Col de Bavella and goes back down on the Nacres coast is superb. The village is home to the Santa-Maria-Assunta church and the Roman chapel in Santa-Barbara. A nice promenade leades to the cascades in Piscia di Gallu.
The littoral of Zonza is organized around Sainte-Lucie de Porto-Vecchio, located only 20 minutes north of Porto-Vecchio.
We find many beaches in Sainte-Lucie de Porto-Vecchio; the gulf of Pinarello is known for its long pinewood and its fine sand is often compared to that of the beaches of Saint Cyprien, the large Ovu Santu Beach is bordered by a pond and Fautea Beach with its magnificent Genoese tower offers an agreeable setting in an area with shallow waters. About a dozen kilometers to the north is Canelle Beach which is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica.
