Our opinion on the Porto Novo beach

Porto-Novo beach in Porto-Vecchio is the most secluded beach between Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio. This is a real concealed paradise! The main beach, 350 meters long, is located in the Gulf of Porto-Novo and is therefore protected from the winds. There is a pond in the background (fresh water supply point at the time of Roman Galleys - there are marble columns at the exit of the Gulf, from the sinking of one of them). This is our greatest discovery in Porto-Vecchio.

There are two small sandy coves on the right (the first one is 5 minutes away on foot, the second one is more difficult to reach by land, about 25 minutes away).

To get to this beach from the centre of Porto Vecchio, take the N198 towards Bonifacio. After the intersection for Ajaccio, continue on the N198 for 10 km. There is a career on the left (South Corsica Agregats) with a blue gate just before the sign for Chiova Asino (municipality of Bonifacio). Park just before the quarry, the trail starts there (uphill from 200 meters). The Gulf of Porto-Novo can be seen below the quarry on the left hand side. It takes about 30 minutes on foot to get to the beach (downhill on the way in, so uphill on the way back...).
