Our opinion on the Semaphore Beach
The beach of the Semaphore (Plage du Sémaphore) is the main beach of Portbail and the closest to the city centre. It starts at the level of the haven of Portbail and stretches over several kilometres northward towards Barneville-Plage. At the level of the bet hold in the water, they find a first-aid post opened in summer. The beach is also equipped for the persons with reduced mobility (provision of tyralos).
The beach is large. Even if the company is important in summer, they find without any problem of the beach to put down its towel. Furthermore she is well enough protected from currents by the Anglo-Norman iles. The water is reputed hotter thanks to the Gulf Stream.
To return you on this beach since the city centre of Portbail to follow D15 (direction of the maritime railway station and of the sail school).

Nice expanse of sand and of road metals on the side with a view on the Cap de Carteret in the distance from Barneville-Carteret. This beach is huge and persists up to the beach of Barneville in about 5 km.
On the left, the beach stops at the level of the haven of Portbail.
The surveillance zone is at the level of the bet hold in the water.
By moving away slightly northward, the beach becomes more wild with some small dunes.
