Beaches in Fréhel (22240) France - advise, map and photos

The commune of Fréhel is situated in the east of the Côtes d’Armor Department and is a close neighbour to the Department of Ille et Vilaine which lies on the Emerald Coast. It is most known for its geographical formations, namely: Cape Fréhel (which is actually situated in the commune of Plévenon) which can be found a short distance to the north. Pléhérel-Plage, only a couple of miles east of Sables-d’Or-les-Pins seaside resort, is Fréhel’s own little seaside village.
Fréhel’s different beaches are all in close proximity to Pléhérel-Plage and are all easily accessible from the coastal road that leads to Cape Fréhel. L’Anse du Croc is the largest and most beautiful of them all, with ample free parking. It is very popular in summer due to the great number of camping sites close by.
One of Fréhel’s unmissable attractions is its cape, where, on a clear day you can even make out Jersey! The area is well suited to hillwalkers with the famous GR34 coastal path running almost the entire length of the coast. Close by you can find the wild beaches of Erquy, complete with its own cape as well, but it is better known as the birthplace of Coquille Saint-Jacques. You can also find another beautiful beach at Pléneuf Val André, very similar to the one at Les Sables d’Olonne (but smaller), with its curved structure and villas running along the seawall.
