Pléneuf Val André is a Breton seaside resort located in the Côtes d'Armor department in the east of the Bay of St Brieuc. It is located at the western end of the Côte d’Emeuraude (the main stations in the Ille et Vilaine) on the coast of Penthièvre (group of several towns from Saint Alban to Plurien). It has kept a certain charm (the station dates back to 1880) with beautiful houses and the small harbour of Dahouët which attracts many tourists (it was a home port of fishermen of Iceland).
There are several beaches in Pléneuf Val André. The most popular is that of Val-André with its beautiful long promenade of 2.5 km. Towards Erquy, there is a succession of wild coves in the hills with one of the most beautiful French golf courses. On these beaches you can also practice sand yachting at low tide (very rare in Brittany). On the side of the hamlet of Berneuf (some beautiful old houses), we find one of the last dune areas of the Bay of St Brieuc.
At high tide, you can get on the island of Verdelet (reserve) from the point of Pléneuf (the latter offers a beautiful view of the Bay of St Brieuc).
