It does not come as a surprise that the various French nude beaches are mostly located in the south of France.
Naturist beaches on the Mediterranean are mostly located in the PACA region and especially in the Var region. On the other hand, many beaches tolerate or practice unauthorised naturism (on inaccessible beaches, often reached through the coastal path after a 10-minute walk).
On the beaches of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, the situation is totally different because of the flat terrain, which is therefore generally accessible. The beaches of Cap d'Agde stand out with their fully equipped centre. There is also a beach in Leucate, which is well equipped with nudist residences. On the beaches of the Pyrenees Orientales region, you will have to go in the north of the department to find nude beaches (Sainte-Marie, Elne and Torreilles).
The Atlantic coast, including the beaches of the Landes and the Gironde regions, has lots of nude beaches. The spaces are very large and therefore municipalities provide special areas for nudists. On the contrary, beaches in general are not monitored and the different areas are dangerous because of undertow.
In Corsica, official naturist beaches are rare. Only beaches with a nudist campsite (or any such establishment) allow naturism. It is therefore generally difficult to access them if one is not a resident.
