Our opinion on the Plateforme Beach
Plateforme Beach in Nice is the easternmost beach in the city, bordering Villefranche sur Mer near the Cap de Nice. This ancient hotel, Maeterlinck, (being transformed into a residence) is not used by the locals as a beach, mostly frequented by men. We find ladders to get directly in the water. Be careful as swimming is dangerous when the sea is agitated. This beach is frequented by nudists.
To get to this beach, follow directions for Coco Beach. At the bottom of the stairs, take a left toward the Cap de Nice. It will take about 20 minutes by foot along the coastal path (well landscaped). The beach is at the end of the path.

Located in the east of Nice, near the Cap de Nice and Mont Boron, this beach along the coastal path is an ancient hotel's pier that we find below on boulevard Maurice Maeterlinck – in 2013 when we came this hotel was being transformed into a residence. In the background we can see Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and the lighthouse.
Since the transformation of the hotel du Palais de Maeterlinck, the dock is easily accessible from the coastal path and is used by the locals.
This beach is surrounded by high cliffs. Near the houses we find a low corniche. Behind the point is the bay of Villefranche sur Mer.
Here we see the coastal path leading to this beach.
We find stairs that join this beach from the corniche. To us, the easiest way to get here is to park near Coco Beach then walk 20 minutes along the coastal path.
