North of Saint-Malo we find Varde Beach in the Rothéneuf neighborhood. This beautiful sand creek is nestled up to the point of Varde and offers an exceptional environment with a few small dunes. It is little known. In the surrounding areas, we find some blockhaus which remind us of this strategic place (we are at the entrance of the corsair city, a fort that was edified on the west coast of the point to protect the harbor).
To get to this beach from the center of Saint-Malo, take highway D201 toward Rothéneuf (north). At the stop light, near the residence Odalys (le Minihic), take a left toward the point Varde (rue du Minihic then rue des Petits Ports). When you arrive near the sea, park. The creek is on the left near the point.
