Our opinion on the Grande Beach
Grande Beach in Saint-Malo extends to fort National to the point of Rochebonne (limit with the beaches of the bay of Minihic). This vast sand beach can be used as the tide goes out. The inconvenience is that is is near the road and the city. To the east the road gets further and we find a pedestrian promenade.
The beach has three first-aid stations in the summer. The first is the closest to the old city and Sillon. The second is available in the place called Parame, the beach is nicknamed Hoguette Beach. The last is located near the point Rochebonne and the beach takes its name from this point.
Parking is rather difficult for this beach. We can find a few free spots for the eastern part of the beach by taking different impasses which open to the beach.

We are near Fort National in St Malo and we are looking east. There are different buildings on the boulevard du Sillon with the long beach and its breakwaters.
This beach is a bit less agreeable due to its proximity to the road. Note that the beach disappears at high tide.
Looking to the left we have a view of Fort National as well as the walls of the city.
Further is the point Varde with a few little agreeable creeks. The beach practically extends to this point (with different names: Hoguette, Rochebonne and then the beaches of the bay of Minihic).
