Our opinion on the Pointe Espagnole Beach

Adresse of the Pointe Espagnole Beach : D25 17390 La Tremblade

First beach of the wild coast coming from Ronce-les-Bains (northernmost beach of the west-facing Arvert peninsula), the beach of the Pointe Espagnole (Spanish tip) is famous for the practice of water sports (surf and kitesurf). For swimming, be very careful because the area is very agitated and strong currents are reported (every year, people are swept away by baines). Even if swimming is supervised in summer, be very careful…

Access is worth. From the car park, you have to cross a vast dune space before arriving on the beach (count 10 minutes walk, no shadow). The beach is huge and bordered by imposing dunes. It feels like being on the beaches of the Landes or Gironde.

To get to this beach take from Ronce-les-Bains, follow the D25 towards Royan. Access is on the right (when we are in the forest – signpost marking the parking lot of the Spanish tip), the height is limited.

Note that dogs on a leash are allowed on the beach all year round outside the surveillance zone. Naturism is also tolerated.
