Gatseau Beach in St Trojan les Bains is located south of the island of Oléron near the spa center. This small sandy beach stretches about 500 meters in a well-protected and gently sloping bay. It is monitored in summer. Note that this is the only south oriented beach in Oléron. The beachfront is in the shade thanks to the large pine forest of St Trojan. The view of the nearby continent is nice.
To reach this beach, go to the D126 towards the Tip of Manson (south). On Boulevard de la Plage, turn right at the roundabout towards Gatseau Beach and the city center. Go straight and follow the signs to the beach and the spa center (Gatseau Boulevard). There is a small car park next to the beach. It is also possible to reach this beach by train (paid – there is a beach stop).
