Located in the department of Seine-Maritime, Saint-Valéry-en-Caux is a popular resort. Almost completely destroyed during World War II, it still has many beautiful monuments like its timbered House Henri IV, which dates from 1540 and the church of Notre-Dame-de-Saint-Valery-en-Caux, dating from the sixteenth century, with its beautiful stained glass windows.
Its picturesque port and dates from the eighteenth century! It extends into the village. Built around a former priory, Saint-Valery and the cliffs of the Albaster Coast are to the delight of holiday makers in search of authenticity. The old district of Penitents is a must-see, it has a pretty convent and offers traditional architecture of the region, with its houses of flint. At the mouth of the harbour, when the weather allows, you can see Dieppe.
Along the waterfront, there is a beautiful walk along the docks and Saint Valéry en Caux’s Beach which is divided by numerous breakwaters from where the view of the cliffs is breath-taking. On the left bank of the port, there is a second area less known and more untamed.
You can also visit the nearby towns of Saint-Pierre-en-Port, Fécamp, Varangéville-sur-Mer and Etretat located about fifty kilometres away.
