Located in the department of Seine-Maritime in Haute-Normandie, the seaside resort of Petites-Dalles is on the Caux plateau, which offers a landscape of fields and orchards dotted with some old houses which you pass while hiking on the many trails.
The nearby villages are rich in history and were the scene of many wars that have left their traces. So it is not uncommon to find some bunkers of the Second World War.
The village of Petites Dalles is adjacent to Saint Martin and the neighbouring town of Sassetot-le-Monconduit. An old fishing town, it is since the nineteenth century it is a popular destination for ocean lovers who appreciate its quiet, authentic family-orientated beach. The beach of Petites-Dalles is surrounded by cliffs and is one of the prettiest of the Alabaster Coast. In the summer, it is covered with pebbles at high tide and becomes a large expanse of sand at low tide to the delight of those who like to shore fish. Off-season, is the favourite place for windsurfing enthusiasts. Only a few kilometres away, there is the beach of Grande Dalle in St Pierre en Port, which is less crowded.
