Sauzaie Beach is located north of Brétignolles sur Mer, a few kilometres south of Petit Pont. This sandy beach is interesting at low tide with nice sandbanks. It is also one of the most famous surf spots in Vendée (Vendée Surf Pro takes place here) mid tide or at high tide (connoisseurs compare it with the beaches in the Landes region). There is a second, wilder beach with dunes further north, about 250 meters away from the car park (the road is apart, there is only a footpath).
To get to this beach from the center of Brétignolles, go to the waterfront and take the road of the Corniche. There is a car park on the left just before leaving the waterfront. The beach is below.
