Port Vieux Beach in Biarritz is without a doubt the smallest beach in this seaside destination but also the most charming! With an oval form, it is surrounded by arcades like we see in Italy. The view is lovely of the Rocher de la Vierge. This is the locals' favorite beach. There is a lifeguard from mid-June to the end of September.
Note that this beach is protected from wind and waves, making this beach great for families with children.
Access is possible from the Place du Port Vieux by stairs (not handicap accessible). A parking lot (paid in season – only 50 places) can be found here. In season, the easiest way to get here is to park in the lot Sainte Eugenie or use the shuttle from Cote des Basques Beach (free).
A restaurant is available on this beach with an enchanting view of the sea. At Place du Port Vieux we also find several restaurants and bars.
