St Jean de Luz is one of the most reputed seaside destinations on the Basque coast. It is familial and sporty and animated all year long thank to many festivals and thalassotherapy centers, etc.
Its large beach located downtown attracts families thanks to three dams rendering the Atlantic more calm for swimming. The view is out of the ordinary with a coast of picturesque houses and Basque charm and another view of Socoa, another destination with its fort.
Outside of the city all the way to Guétary, we find several sand beaches offering diversity for everyone including surfers who will find the right wave for their levels.
We can also benefit from the mountainous environment as the bay of St Jean de Luz is surrounded by the Labourd and Guipuzcoa mountains.
St Jean de Luz is also a touristic base for discovering Pays Basque and even for going to the north of Spain, located less than thirty minutes away.
North of St Jean de Luz, the beaches of Biarritz make up some of the most beautiful beaches of the Pyrenees Atlantiques, from Anglet the beaches extend over several kilometers (however, the destination is is very animated in the summer).
