In the Landes, on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the seaside resort of Labenne, which is located fifteen kilometres from Bayonne, is a popular site for families.

There are 3 kilometres of beach in Labenne with a supervised central area, several leisure parks, surf clubs and the opportunity for sea fishing. The originality of the place is that swimming holiday makers can enjoy the exceptional views of both the ocean and the Pyrenees!

Surrounded by maritime pine and oak forests, the walking possibilities are numerous and an extensive network of cycle paths has been established so that everyone benefits. The promenade offers a beautiful view of the port of Capbreton, the nearby town, and of the Landes dunes north and the Bay of the Basque coast south, including the Anglet beaches that mark the border between the Landes and the Pyrenees Atlantiques.

You can still see bunkers on the beach, from WWII, remember the "Wall of the Atlantic" and a well-preserved barracks. The curious will visit the town hall to admire a fresco painted by a prisoner of war in 1945.
