Côte des Basques Beach in Biarritz extends over close to one kilometer. This large sand beach to the south of town is uniquely accessible at low tide as the beach disappears at high tide. There is a lifeguard in the summer from mid-June to the beginning of September. From one side we have a nice view of the Rocher de la Vierge and the mountains of the Spanish coast to the other side. This is one of the spots for surfers and there are many competitions here. The beach is handicap accessible, but not equipped otherwise.
You can get here two different ways: from boulevard du Prince de Galles and avoiding the stairs (parking is impossible and this access is reserved for the handicapped) or from the parking lot on avenue du Beau Rivage then taking the paths that lead to the beach in about five minutes.
